Hartley Farm & Shop

by Amy

The south west does farm cafes very well and Hartley Farm doesn’t disappoint. It’s a popular lunch spot and can get very busy with families, walkers and shoppers but there’s also plenty of space. We’re regulars and today I visited their beautiful new barn cafe with an with an impressive menu. Their farm shop has a one way system taking you past fresh produce and flowers, a beautiful selection of homewares and through to their large food section including butchers and a fishmongers.

The kids love the simple play area with a few animals and there’s seating scattered around their vegetable gardens and under an open tent in a field to enjoy your coffee. We also enjoy a walk nearby to visit some friendly horses and say hi to the cows. In autumn we picked blackberries along the road.

Walks Nearby The cafe and shop are clearly a great pit stop for walks in the area. Here’s a few Nigel Vile has produced for Hartley.

The Conkwell Walk a 3 mile flat circular

The Avoncliff Walk a 4 mile, 2 hour walk

Practical Stuff. There’s plenty of free onsite parking, its accessible with a ramp up to the cafe in the barn and through the shop. Dogs are welcome and there are toilets onsite around the back of the shop.
