Bath City Farm is a volunteer-led, community farm perched on the southern hillside of Bath with fantastic views across the city. It’s a lovely, 37 acres site, where families can visit for free, enjoy a wander around to see the animals, explore the vegetable gardens, go on an adventure trial or race around the playgrounds. They also provide an important range of education, training and therapeutic activities for the local community and host a number of events throughout the year.
It’s mostly about the playground for us. A quick visit see the chickens and pigs, then a stop at the dinosaur for a spot of climbing. Then feed the chickens and ducks, down to see the goats, pony, sheep and lambs then to the bigger fort playground via the cafe for a homemade cake or ice cream and coffee.
The Animals. There’s a few animals including pigs, chickens, rabbits, ducks, sheep and lambs, donkies, goats. You can buy some animal feed at the cafe.
The Play Areas & Walking Trails. There’s some fantastic play areas for the kids to enjoy and the farm has created some interactive trails helping you to explore the site. Download their trail maps or buy one from the shop and go off on an adventure.
- The Fort Playground. This is the large playground, inspired by a medieval castle, the fort has a sandpit, climbing wall, slide, swing, interactive water cascade and a brand new tractor climbing structure with slide and den.
- History Trail. There are ten land markers to unearth, covering one mile and taking approximately 45 minutes to complete. Spot the dinosaur laying amongst the the grass, climb inside a replica air raid shelter from World War II and examine real fossils.
- Nature Trail. A one mile walk through woodlands and grassy meadows blooming with wildflowers, stopping at the wildlife pond and treehouse.

The Cafe. Serving fresh home-made food from, sandwiches, salads, soups, sausage rolls and cakes there is something for everyone. All produce is made on site, using ingredients grown at the farm as well as from carefully selected local suppliers.
Donate. As a charity Bath City Farm relies on donors and fundraising to keep the site running and in good shape. As your visit is free, please make a donation if you can.

Buggy: Most of the site is buggy friendly, most of the paths can be uneven, steep and bumpy in places.

Dogs: Allowed on site on a lead.
Hand washing: There are plenty of hand washing facilities on site
